Nerve & Muscle Studies (EMG)
The EMG department at ACHS offers electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies. These are tests that measure the electrical activity of muscles and nerves.
Staff
Dr. Todd Troll is board-certified physician who specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Dr. Troll conducts the EMG tests and studies on-site at ACHS.
Goal
To provide the highest quality electromyography and nerve conduction studies to help detect neuromuscular abnormalities.
Interventions/Services
EMG test measures muscle response of (or electrical activity in response to) a nerve’s stimulation of the muscle. EMG measures electrical activity of muscle during rest, contraction and forceful contraction. During the test, electrodes are inserted through the skin into the muscle. The electrical activity detected by the electrodes is displayed on a monitor in the form of waves and amplified as sound.
