Surgery

The surgery department at ACHS offers a variety of patient-centered, top quality surgical services close to home. The department conducts a wide variety of procedures in multiple specialties, including general surgery, orthopedics, pain and urology. Click through the website for more details on each specialty.

Staff

Our department is staffed with a team of exceptional, board-certified surgeons, numerous compassionate, mastery-certified NISE (Nurses in Surgery Essentials) registered nurses, and a dedicated anesthesia provider (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist).

Goal

To provide the highest quality patient care before, during and after each procedure to ensure a quick and seamless recovery. We are devoted to offering a safe, personalized and convenient outpatient  surgery experience.

Interventions/Services
General Surgery

Dr. Paul Grossmann specializes in minimally invasive and laparoscopic general surgeries and has more than 25 years of experience. He performs general surgical procedures.

 

Orthopedics

Dr. Teri Formanek, a Harvard Hand Fellow, specializes in upper extremity procedures and has more than 35 years of experience. Following a thorough consultation and examination, he performs general orthopedic procedures.

 

Pain 

Dr. Matthew Biggerstaff and Dr. Robert Rossi both specialize in surgical services for chronic pain and have more than 17 years and 20 years of experience, respectively. They provide a variety of pain procedures.

 

Urology

Dr. Jacob Jipp specializes in urology conditions and treatment; and has more than 6 years of experience in the field. He provides numerous urology procedures

 

Appointments

Patients may schedule surgical consultation appointments with surgeons in their respective clinics located in the Adair County Specialty Clinic (located in Adair County Memorial Hospital) or Adair County Medical Clinic – Greenfield. Appointments are required. However, no referral is necessary for a consultation appointment.

Surgical procedures will be scheduled as appropriate following surgical consultation and provider referral. The Surgery Department will contact patients to schedule procedures after receiving all necessary authorization.
